Smoking is the habit of inhaling and exhaling the tobacco smoke or a drug and during pregnancy smoking may harm the baby. Autism is neuro developmental disorder characterized by great trouble in communicating and forming relationships with other people and in using language and abstract ideas. High-functioning autism is a milder form of the disorder and many children on that end of the spectrum can communicate and attend school without problems.

The word autism is linked to many worries and usually parents panic when they hear about autism. It has received a great deal of media attention, particularly when celebrities admit to have autistic children. A Hollywood actor, Sylvester Stallone’s son, Seargeoh was diagnosed autism. A singer Toni Braxton’s son, Diezel was diagnosed with autism and for some time, she believed that her son’s autism was God’s way of punishing her. She shared that, “When my youngest son was diagnosed with autism I feared that I was being punished for my earlier actions. I have since realized that my son is special and learns in a different way.” Many things have been liable for autism, and smoking is one of culprits. Smoking during pregnancy does not mean that your child would definitely have autism but it increase the chance of developing this disorder and a link had been found in researches. Autism is diagnosed to one in every 88 children and autistic children’s brain work to receive and process the information differently.
