A question arise when someone thinks about getting married or staying single, which life is better? Which is more attractive. Well, it may vary from culture to culture and society to society too. Getting married makes you happier, more involved in society and improved in all areas of life including physically, mentally or emotionally and even interpersonal interactions too. All these things also depends that to which culture we belong? Like in our Pakistani culture, getting married is consider to be better than staying single. But according to me, there are important ways in which lifelong single people do better than people who get married yet this formula doesn’t fit to all that who is better? Married or Single.

People are already inclined in ways that make them seem to be doing better than they really are, and single people worse. People usually compared their married life on basis of benefits they have after being married whether they are physical benefits, psychological or emotional but the comparisons are scientifically weak.

According to few researches, sometimes the people who stay single are doing better in life than those who are currently married. In some studies, including a few based on large, representative national samples, it is the single people who are healthiest. It had been observed that if you follow those people who were single, then got married and stayed in that marriage their level of happiness decreased with the time as compared to that time when they were single. If you follow people over time as they go from being single to getting married and staying married, they end up no happier than they were when they were single. Marriage does not make sure that your life will increase as it is not a royal road. Single life have much better opportunities to stay connected with people, as marriage take extra responsibilities to make sure that your spouse is happy with you. Single people do more to maintain their ties to friends, siblings, parents, neighbors, and coworkers than married people do. They do more than their share of volunteering and helping people, such as aging parents, who need a lot of help. They experience more autonomy and self-determination, and more personal growth and development.

No One Side is the Winner

Nowadays celebrities starting claiming more and more that staying single is better than getting married. Divorce ratio also increased, as some claim that when we are single we are happier, live richer and have more meaningful lives. But again it varies from culture to culture, in Asian culture marriage has supreme priority, people earn and get educated so they get good jobs so that ultimately they get good jobs and get marry. There are different aspects to see both type of lives, marriage has its own benefits and bachelor life has its own.
